will i ever not be tired again?in running you have to pace yourself. you try not to go out to fast, you warm your legs up, and then kick it up a notch, always mindful and respectful of the distance you have to travel. one would think i might have thought the same of festivalling. but no, i did not.
too many movies, shoved into a short time span, all the while trying to maintain my schedule of work, working out and friends. all i can say is by wednesday i was pooped. even a good nights sleep hasnt helped much. i feel exhausted and the last thing i want to do is go to the movies. that in itself is sacriledge. anyways, the movies i saw were
childstar - directed by don mckeller. um what can i say, loathed the way his introduction of the film mirrored the first scenes. some people laughed. i groaned and thought "good grief"
its all gone pete tong - another hilarious movie directed by Michael Dowse.
Crónicas - an excellent, disturbing, beautifully shot film from Ecuador. go see this if it gets distribution in your area.
the motorcycle diaries - tour de force really. amazing images of south america. excellent performances. a sweet tale of che before he was che. loved de la sernas performance!
and
l'intrus - claire denis did this one. sadly i was exhausted at this point (screening started late an i was already sleep deprived). imagery very interesting. not sure that it came together for me though.
